Connect your project

Connect your project

Start from what you already have. For a project: your schedule, your building model and your documents. For Metrics: the exports your operation already keeps. Novus shows you how it read each one before anything is built from it.

How to connect

For projects

Schedules come in through Import a schedule when you start a new project, or Import Project on a project you already have. Building models attach to a Project Board, and documents go to @Novus.

Bring your schedule

Primavera P6 · Microsoft Project · Excel/CSV

Primavera P6

.xer

  1. 1In P6, open the project and choose File → Export, then Primavera PM (XER).
  2. 2In Novus, choose New project → Import a schedule, or Import Project on an existing project page.
  3. 3Drop the .xer in. Novus shows the activities, the WBS groups it will turn into teams, and the dependency logic — nothing is built until you confirm.

Microsoft Project

through an Excel workbook (.xlsx)

  1. 1In Project, choose File → Save As and pick Excel Workbook. Keep the task name, start and finish columns.
  2. 2Drop the .xlsx into Import a schedule. Novus recognises Project’s column names — Task Name, Start, Finish.
  3. 3Check what it matched, accept the dependency links it suggests, and confirm.

Excel/CSV

.xlsx · .csv

  1. 1One activity per row: a name and its timing — start and finish dates, or a start and a duration. A Phase, Area or WBS column groups activities into teams.
  2. 2Save it as .xlsx (Novus reads the first sheet) or as .csv.
  3. 3Drop it into Import a schedule. Check the columns Novus matched, and accept the dependency links it suggests between your activities.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar

.ics

  1. 1In Google Calendar, open Settings → Import & export → Export. It downloads a zip.
  2. 2Open the zip and pick the .ics for the calendar you want.
  3. 3Drop it into Import a schedule. Each event becomes an activity, and a repeating one — a weekly class — becomes one per occurrence.

IFC / BIM

IFC / BIM

.ifc · .ifczip — from Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla or any BIM tool

  1. 1Export IFC from your modelling tool — in Revit, File → Export → IFC.
  2. 2On a Construction project, open a Project Board, click the building icon and upload the file. Novus reads the levels, spaces and elements; the file itself isn’t stored.
  3. 3Confirm which activities build which floors and elements, then open Model and slide through the dates to watch it go up.
Revit’s Sample House in Model view, with a sample schedule. Drag to turn it, scroll to zoom, and slide the date to watch it go up.

Bring your project knowledge

Notion · SharePoint · Google Drive — by export

Not a live connection: bring the file. Attach a PDF, a Word document or a screenshot to @Novus in a Project Board’s admin chat and Plan AI reads it into the schedule.

Notion

Export a task database as CSV and bring it in through Import a schedule, like any spreadsheet — one task per row, with its dates.

SharePoint

Download the programme, specs or minutes as PDF or Word and attach them to @Novus.

Google Drive

The same: download the document from the shared folder and attach it to @Novus.

For Metrics

Metrics reads the records your operation already keeps. Nothing connects to your systems: export what you have, as it is, and drop it in.

Your exports, as they are

.xlsx · .csv — from a till, an ERP, a maintenance system or your own sheets

  1. 1Export from wherever the records live, as Excel or CSV. A daily form-style sheet works too — Novus finds the table under the header block.
  2. 2On a Metrics project, drop the files into Log › Library, or straight into Guided. Novus matches each file to the kind of data it holds, column by column, joins the sheets that belong together, and sorts out dates, returns and currencies.
  3. 3Check how it read each file — How Novus reads this shows every column — and point one elsewhere if it’s wrong. The next file in that layout reads the same way, with nothing asked. Your original stays in the Library as you gave it.
